10/28/2022 How flooding degrades the gas diffusion electrode performance for CO2/CO reduction? Our recent research uncovers that preventing flooding in gas diffusion layer is more important than in catalyst layer. 7/08/2022 Takeshi passed the M.S. defense for his thesis on pulse electrolysis of CO2 reduction. He will return to Japan to start his industrial career. Best wishes to his future endeavors!​

2/9/2022 Our group's first Ph.D. student, Tianyu Zhang, successfully passed his Ph.D. dissertation defense! He will leave for Boston and join Giner to start his industrial career. Best wishes to his future endeavors!

12/13/2021 Welcome to new postdoc, Dr. Ashok Ummireddi . Dr. Ummireddi obtained his PhD from IIT-Kanpur and will work on the project supported by DOE EERE.

​03/15/2021 Dr. Wu receives the CEAS  Distinguished Researcher Award from College of Engineering and Applied Science to recognize his scholar achievement in the past year 2020.
01/19/2021 The team proposal aiming at developing  "Modular Reactors for the Capture and Electro-conversion of CO2 in Various Industrial Processes to Value-Added Chemicals" is recommended for funding by DOE EERE AMO with a total award of $3.2M. The team includes ULL, UC, INL and Giner Inc. See the DOE announcement.
01/04/2021 Three new members join our group this Spring. Two co-advised postdocs between the Sun and Wu groups, Drs. Xiang Lyu and Xiao Shang,  and one graduate student, Takeshi Ito. Welcome aboard!

08/15/2020 The proposal aiming to research the interplay of reactant species transport and C-C coupling reaction kinetics is funded by NSF CBET with funding of ~$450,000. 
06/25/2020 The joint project of CO2-to-C2H4 conversion together with ULL has been funded by DOE NETL with a total award of $1.25 M. This project will support our group  to develop electrodes for electrochemical CO2 reduction towards industrial application.
